“The Screenplay — penned by Gordon Pengilly — tells the story of Clayton Sykora, a paroled prisoner who tries to reconnect with his former life in his first day as a free man. The short film is set in the 1980’s and includes an all Sask-Canadian cast, starring Regina native Amy Matysio and Cormican, who will be playing the lead role.
“Seeing in the Dark” will be shooting from July 5 to 6 with a modest budget in varied locations in Saskathcewan, including the cozy Mr. Breakfast restaurant and the Regina Public Works building.
This will mark Cormican’s debut as a producer in Saskatchewan. The short will be using all the latest technology in film, including the R3D camera HD digital filming technology. Since the film is set in the 80’s, part of it will be shot inside a vintage 1988 47-passenger Charter Bus from Engelheim Charters of Lipton, SK. Period tattoos, wardrobe and make-up have all been selected for the film with the help of local make-up artist Kaitlyn Rae.”
