Are You a Fan of Film?

I ask the question; are you a fan of film? But I’m not referring to literally being a supporter of the film medium, rather, a member of a great initiative which just so happens to be entitled: Fans of Film. Now if you’re shaking your head no, you are probably not familiar with it as it has yet to become a big name on the internet. (Not yet, anyways!) However, I’m highly recommending you check it out, as it features a great audience of followers and supporters, and is a growing community of film and television industry professionals.

Clicking the about tab on the website leaves you with this brief description of the project:

Breaking Down Four Wall Distribution, Philanthropically Helping Filmmakers Market Their Films On The Web.
Here At Fans Of Film I like to think we’re helping filmmakers like never before, as a proactive community of filmmakers helping filmmaker that are doing it themselves with marketing and distribution.

We take a personal approach to each filmmaker on a social level, by promoting quality individual profiles on Twitter, and on other social media platforms. So make those profiles sharp, ‘you will get’ looked at by other professionals.

It’s essentially a Facebook or Myspace where members can advertise themselves, their work and their services. You can blog, interact with other members of the community and network. What makes it even better is the fact that it’s being used to distribute short films online (<strong>Short is Better, isn’t it!?</strong>)

We hope to see you on the Fans of Film Website which can be found here: http://fansoffilm.com/

After all, we’re Fans of Film, aren’t we?
